20 new routes from Arlanda

20 new routes is opening up from Stockholm Arlanda Airport within the coming months. Most of them are run by low fares airlines, according to Niclas Härenstam, head of the airports press department.

1. Léopold Sédar Senghor - Dakar, Senegal

2. Indira Gandhi International Airport - New Delhi, India

3.  Mineralnye Vody Airport - Mineralnye, Russia

4. Baghdad International - Bagdad, Irak

5. Charles de Gaulle - Paris, France

SAS tried to buy Sabena

Even though it might be difficult to belive in these times when SAS does it’s best to sell off most of it’s assets - Spanair, BMI, SAS Radisson Hotels etc - SAS tried to expand it’s business in the 1980:s through buying Belgian airline Sabena.

SAS:s CEO had already started branding the new joint airline “Scandinavian and Sabena - SAS”, but the proposal was later dismissed by the leadership of the Belgian airline. And Sabena later went bankrupt and exist no more.
