New underground lines in Stockholm
Sunday, 11 October 2015 05:49

The Stockholm Metro is expanding.

The blue line, which now ends at Kungsträdgården in the city center, will be extended in two lines. One will go to Nacka, and the other to Gullmarsplan, where it will connect into the current green line to Hagsätra, which will be switched into a blue line.

The blue line to Akalla will be extended in the west to Barkarby. This means yet another connection point to the commuter train system. This line also passes by Kista, one of the worlds biggest IT-centers.

A new yellow line will start at Odenplan and go to Arenastaden, where gigantic Friends Arena and Scandinavian Mall are located.

A total of 10 new stations will be built, and it will make public transportation in Stockholm even easier. Stockholm has one of the world's best mass transit system, and one of the highest rate of public transportation use. More than 70% of the Stockholmers use the public transport for their daily travels.

The extended blue line will be even more important, and two of our apartments are located by Fridhemsplan. Accommodation in Stockholm
