The top priority for Stockholm is to build enough new dwellings, and to expand it's infrastructure. Due to the fast growing city, there is a sewere housing shortage, which now is beeing adressed both both local, regional and central politicians and administrations. The currnent plans in the City of Stockholm and it's suburbs, are for several hundred of thousands of new apartments and houses. The number of apartments in Stockholm beeing built is setting new records. Stockholm has not expeienced this high building capacity since the record years in the 1960:s. The shortage of housing is considered as one the major problems for Stockholms' continous success and expansion.
There are also big infrastructure projcts beeing built and others beeing planned, inclduing new underground lines, new railways and roads. The expansion of the Metro system makes it possible to built up to 200 000 new homes along it's routes.
