The Eurovision Song Contest 10 - 14 May 2016

After Måns Selmerlöw winning the ESC 2015 with "Heroes", the Song contest will be back in Sweden. This time it's Stockholms turn to host the worlds biggest TV-show. Stockholms is planning to make it a grand event. Four areanas right next to each other is involved: Ericssson Globe Arena, Tele2 Arena, Hovet and Annexet. The location is close to the city center, with excellent public transportation.

Skavsta Airport (NYO) is located approx 100 km south of Stockholm. It is mostly used by low fares airlines like Ryanair and Wizz Air. The bus journey takes one hour and 15 minutes and costs 139 SEK. There are two routes: One goes to Stockholm's Central station directly. And one goes to Gullmarsplan and makes stops along the way at Västberga, Skärholmen and Södertälje Syd. Buses mostly departs in conjunction to the arrivals  and departures of flights. A taxi from Skavsta airport to Stockholm costs approx 1500 SEK.

United Ailines switches it's service to Stockholm

United Airlines has switched it's transatlantic flights to Scandinavia to a seasonal offering after droping winter service from it's hub at Newark Airport to both Stockholm and Oslo. In May 2016 United resumes its flights to Sweden and Norway.

Scandinavian Airlines SAS, Delta and low fares carrier Norwegian continues its services between US destinations and Stockholm Arlanda airport.
