20 new routes is opening up from Stockholm Arlanda Airport within the coming months. Most of them are run by low fares airlines, according to Niclas Härenstam, head of the airports press department. |

American Magazine Foreign Policy has published a list over the World's five worst airports:
1. Léopold Sédar Senghor - Dakar, Senegal
2. Indira Gandhi International Airport - New Delhi, India
3. Mineralnye Vody Airport - Mineralnye, Russia
4. Baghdad International - Bagdad, Irak
5. Charles de Gaulle - Paris, France

Even though it might be difficult to belive in these times when SAS does it's best to sell off most of it's assets - Spanair, BMI, SAS Radisson Hotels etc - SAS tried to expand it's business in the 1980:s through buying Belgian airline Sabena.
SAS:s CEO had already started branding the new joint airline "Scandinavian and Sabena - SAS", but the proposal was later dismissed by the leadership of the Belgian airline. And Sabena later went bankrupt and exist no more. |

Europe's leading low fares airline Ryanair is forced to cut costs with 400 million Euro, due to increased costs for fuel.
Where the cutbacks will be made is not clear yet. Routes with low profit may be at risk. |
